Going for a hike along the southern Oregon coast is as easy as sitting down at your pc computer thanks to Cody’s Guide of Beaches, Trails, and Sea Stacks on Oregon’s South Coast.
This CD-ROM covers over 100 miles of our local coast, is very user friendly and packed full of trails, beautiful photos, and 23 printable maps that will keep you on the trail and finding your way.
The Guide covers Southern Oregon coast beaches, sea stacks, and trails from Bullards Beach State Park to the California state line.
The maps are clear and easy to read, from the overall big picture, to the five larger scale maps that have sub maps of 13 detail areas.
The photo sequences show overall terrain, actual trail signs you will encounter, selected sight points along the trails, as well as local attractions like Port Orford’s Cape Blanco Lighthouse and Hughes House.
Photos introduce you to the local plants and animals you might see, and beautiful panoramic vista shots give you an excellent sense of the area for each walk.
On each map blue arrow icons highlight photo locations including the direction the photo was taken. There are 400 photo locations with over 1100 photos sequenced to give you a virtual walking tour of the hiking trails.
Print out one of the trail maps, tuck it in your pocket and you are ready to be a trail guide yourself as you wander the many trails in our area.
The Guide is a wonderful hike planner and would make a great gift to share the beauty of our area.
