2007 Honda Rancher, TRX420FM

Brand new in April 2007, I converted this old motorcycle trailer to haul it home.

Riding in Southern Oregon
Sand Camping at Hauser Access - Horsfall Beach & Spinreel in Oregon Dunes NRA
Riding at Rabbit Ears
- Diamond Lake - Palmer Ridge

Accessories Added:
Hour Meter (scroll down)- Winch Installed - 12v Power Socket

IInstalling the hour meter; still on the trailer in the driveway.

Removing the two panels on the left side provides the access needed to attach the leads for the Honda hour meter/tachometer, which I got from the dealer for $40.  The red lead is seen here clipped onto the spark plug wire, and the black lead is grounded forward of the cylinder head.

The dashed magenta line shows how I routed the wire.  A zip tie secures the wire to the fuel tank mount at the point where the wire crosses forming a loop.  Having the loop makes it easy to adjust the wire length to the display.

This may seem like an odd place to mount the display, but there are no suitable flat surfaces around the handlebars or fuel tank.  Here on the fender it's not too close to my knee and it's still visible while riding.  The adhesive backing seems very strong, so I see no need to punch screw holes through the fender just yet.

The old cat checks out the new intruder.
